Reviews for Cerro de la Silla
Review highlights
Based on 1,625 reviewsCerro de la Silla is widely recognized for its authentic Mexican cuisine, particularly its specialty in cabrito. Reviewers frequently highlight the restaurant as one of the best places in Mexico City to experience this traditional dish, noting the rich flavors and quality meat options like riñoda and machitos. While some feedback mentions minor inconsistencies in cooking, such as slight over-grilling, overall, the food is praised for its taste and authenticity. Additionally, the restaurant is appreciated for its attentive service and complementary menu items like cheese fondue, enhancing the dining experience. Cerro de la Silla consistently appeals to those seeking a genuine taste of northern Mexican culinary heritage.
If you are looking for a small taste of real cabrito, El cerro de la silla is the closest you can get north of Mexico City (although it has changed over the years). You get what you pay, but I would highly recommend the Riñoda over anything else (more flavor and meat). Los machitos as an entrée is an excellent alternative but they might bring them a little too burned, therefore the Tacos Sudados is a far superior option you can get. If you are looking for a soup, la de médula is a great option for those adventurous who enjoy bone marrow and a little spice. Always ask for the “salsa molcajeteada” and make it a little spicy and enjoy the trio (although could be a little loud if you are not used to). El cerro is a place for those curious or homesick, somewhere you can be transporte to more simpler times where average good food and amazing drinks can take you.
Very nice place. My favorite for Cabrito.
One of the best places to eat cabrito (goat)
Best "cabrito" in Mexico city
Great cabrito meal Good service Cheese fondue is great
Good food but expensive
Good experience and great too have fun!
Excellent food. They make a lot of things at your table: Caesar salad, flamboyé, mexican sauces on molcajete. They have live norteňa music. So, the show is as good as the food.
